An Isett Associate says: I came in my house from work and smelled a faint odor of plastic burning. I started searching and noticed smoke coming from the metal handle of my Kobalt weed whacker that was propped against the wall waiting to be taken in the basement for winter storage. I have not used this in several months. I picked it up and saw the battery was on fire. I took it outside and was able to extinguish the fire, but not before filling my house with fumes. If this had happened earlier in the day or overnight, I could have lost my dog and 5 cats and my home.
